IoT Account Manager

What you will be doing
Connexin is looking for a dynamic and passionate, forward-thinking Account Manager to develop and grow our key IOT accounts across our sales verticals, supporting them on their smart journey. As an IOT Account Manager, you will play a vital role in our Sales and Account Management team, focusing on client relationships, account growth, client solutions and customer satisfaction.
The Account Manager will be the principal point of contact for these accounts and must represent the Connexin brand impeccably, looking for ways to exceed the customer use-case outcomes and drive further business with them to increase revenue and margin. Responsibility for maintaining these accounts lies with the Account Manager, but also the growth and development within plays a key part in Connexin’s IoT & Smart Places strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver new business and revenue targets.
- Take accountability and responsibility for the key customer accounts, acting as the voice of the customer and developing long-term strategic growth plans.
- Manage the delivery of customer orders, holding internal stakeholders and suppliers accountable where needed, ensure deliverables are provided on time and meet both Connexin’s and the Customer’s expectations, manage any customer dependencies and provide detailed concise project updates when required.
- Retain and further develop relationships with the key customer accounts to grow the accounts by expanding the products/services provided.
- Work to develop the Customer’s IoT Strategies from an outcomes-based approach; ensure stakeholder buy-in, provide technology recommendations and promote the Connexin product set.
- Deliver a sales pitch to prospective clients, negotiate and close business contracts with existing clients. Solve any queries for the customer (e.g. invoicing and payments) that may be raised where necessary working with the relevant internal or external resources.
- Communicate to clients clearly and address their concerns and resolve any conflicts that arise, raise clients’ business concerns and needs to the company’s management.
- Collaborate with project, technical and developer teams to ensure that the customer requirements are met.
- Prepare and present business and account updates to the company’s management and clients.
- Monitor the budget of the client, explain costs or expenditures and discuss new terms if necessary up with clients to ensure they are satisfied with the company’s products or service.
- Contribute information to sales strategies by assessing current product results, monitoring competitive products, assessing needs to be filled and analysing customer reactions.
- Attend conferences and events to maintain and build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends.
- Create, own and evolve efficient and robust sales processes to assist the IoT BDM and Sales functions, this includes (but not limited to) sales documents, proposal templates, pricing templates, sales governance process for design, internal bill of materials, commercial sign off and quotations.
- Standardise and improve on existing processes.
- Own the improvement plans across all sales verticals within the IoT team.
- Assist with large and small scale tender bid documents, RFI, RFP and presentations.
- Take accountability for the existing customer sales target – upselling wherever possible, to maximise our revenue opportunities.
Essential skills and competencies
- A dynamic and forward-thinking Account Manager with a track record of successfully managing a wide range of customers.
- A clear communicator, able to pitch complex topics to stakeholders with a wide range of perspectives and digital expertise, calm and composed when placed under pressure.
- A skilled builder of relationships for long-term success.
- An understanding and experience of low-powered networks and IoT solutions/use cases.
- Have enthusiasm for IoT and technology in general, a willingness and drive to learn the products both “under the hood” and from a customer perspective, acting as a champion to utilise, enhance and expand our existing offerings.
- An executive with a voice who contributes to the wider conversation around IoT through writing/speaking etc.
- Have a problem-solving mentality and a can-do attitude to do as much for the customer as possible so that we win more business and achieve market leading customer satisfaction.
- A goal-setting and go-getting attitude to take responsibility for managing prospects to deliver Connexin’s business requirements while always focusing on the right solutions for the customer.
- Where appropriate constructively challenge the status quo to drive a culture of holistic success and help customers to be “ahead of the curve”.
Essential Experience
- Proven and demonstrable IOT/telecoms experience in managing Public Sector, Enterprise Sales, Account Management, managing Technology and Service Solutions.
- Knowledge and insight into IOT/Sensors/networks and smart solutions.
- At least five years of work experience in sales management, customer service and business development.
- At least 10 years professional work experience.
