What you will be doing

Connexin is looking for a dynamic, passionate and experienced IoT Solution Architect to develop our key strategic solutions; designing customer solutions from conception to delivery that deliver fantastic business and ESG results for our new and existing customer base. This includes supporting the sales, marketing and technical team on our IoT journey. A competitive salary is offered for this position and can be discussed at early stages of interview. 

The Solution Architect will be the principal point of contact for solution design, development and GTM strategy for each. We expect impeccable representation of the Connexin brand, looking for ways to exceed the customer use-case outcomes and develop the use cases to further business with them, increasing revenue and margin. Responsibility for pro-actively creating new opportunities in smart city/smart buildings/smart places/smart water & utilities and network infrastructure, playing a key part in Connexin’s IoT strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibility for key technical decisions and stack across all IoT BU. Most of the time spent in this role will be to design customer solutions from conception to delivery, delivering evidenced, fantastic business and ESG results for customers.
• Assist with design, build, ongoing maintenance, integration and optimisation of the Connexin OS platform.
• The technical and solution voice in the development of Connexin’s IoT strategy; playing a key role in the development of Connexin’s technical strategy architecture, service delivery standards and best practices.
• Building and maintaining key supplier relationships in conjunction with the BDMs, to ensure Connexin is in commercially favourable position with its solutions.
• Possess a strong understanding of the company’s products and solutions, the competition in the industry and positioning of Connexin in the market.
• Assisting in sales presentations and tender writing whilst fully reporting to management the risks and opportunities with the ongoing business activities, including bid qualification and financial evaluation of potential solutions.
• Converge solution stack across all verticals, ensuring Connexin are achieving economies of scale in any cost as well as reusing experiences and contacts from each vertical.
• Attending webinars and conferences to keep up to date with the latest innovations in IoT.
• Collaborating with project office, sales and developer teams to ensure that the customer requirements are met.
• Work to develop prospects IoT network strategies from both a technical and outcomes-based approach, ensure stakeholder buy-in, provide technology recommendations and promote the Connexin product set.
• Solve technical queries for both potential and existing customer that may be raised where necessary working with the relevant internal or external resources.
• Develop technical partnerships and support the management interface with prospects and partners to deliver the right solution and business outcomes.
• Work in collaboration with network architects and network engineers to provide sound technical knowledge and expertise.

Essential skills and competencies

• An experienced technical solution architect with a track record of successfully implementing IoT solutions.
• Excellent platform and application development knowledge.
• A deep understanding of the IoT sector, experience of low-powered networks, platforms and IoT solutions/use cases.
• Have enthusiasm for IoT and technology in general; a willingness and drive to learn and understand the products and solutions both “under the hood” and from a customer perspective.
• A clear communicator, able to pitch complex topics to stakeholders with a wide range of perspectives and digital expertise; calm and composed when placed under pressure.
• An executive with a voice who contributes to the wider conversation around IoT through writing/speaking etc.
• A skilled builder of relationships for long-term success.
• Have a problem-solving mentality and a can-do attitude to do as much for the customers.
• A goal-setting and go-getting attitude to take responsibility for finding and developing best in class network infrastructure hardware, methods and locations to deliver Connexin’s business requirements while always focusing on the right solutions for the customer.
• A relentless focus on achieving the required targets.
• Where appropriate constructively challenge the status quo to drive a culture of holistic success and help customers to be “ahead of the curve”.

Essential experience and qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in IoT technology & platforms, data science and analytics 
• Previous experience in a similar role involving IoT/technical project design and implementation
• IoT Infrastructure and Cloud development
• Experience in dealing with large corporate customers in a solution design or consultancy role
• Experience in Utilities and Smart Buildings a plus
